The Russian oil company Bashneft has become the new general sponsor of the CSKA football club. The relevant agreement was signed on February 18.

Football CSKA received a new general sponsor

Since mid -2009, the sponsor of CSKA has been Aeroflot, and before that, the VTB bank logo was depicted on the team’s T -shirts for several years. This bank refused to renew the contract with CSKA at the end of 2008, so one of the most famous Russian clubs played without a general sponsor for six months.

The sponsorship contract with Bashneft will begin to operate from the nearest match – February 24 CSKA in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League will meet with the Spanish Seville.

Details of the contract with CSKA in a press release of Bashneft are not disclosed. However, at the press conference itself, company representatives said that we are talking about a contract for one year with the possibility of extending, Sports.ru portal reports.

Bashneft is one of the large Russian private oil companies. Its main shareholder is AFK System by Vladimir Yevtushenkov. The company's turnover in 2009 amounted to 121.9 billion rubles.
