On Saturday and Sunday, February 23-24, paired matches of the 17th round were played in the Russian Volleyball Championship. VK Ryazan (head coach – Andrey Ogly), which occupies the 8th place in the standings, met in Penza with the 9th team of the tournament, the local University-Visit and scored two victories – 3:0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:18) and 3:1 (25:17, 25:16, 25:27, 25:15).

The remaining games of the 17th round in the Center Division ended as follows: Voronezh (Voronezh) – Gatchinka (Leningrad region) – 3:1, 3:0; Tulitsa-2 (Tula) – Severyanka-2 (Cherepovets) – 0:3, 1:3; Bryansk (Bryansk) – Iskra-AMOND-2 (Samara) – 3:2, 3:1; Italmas-IzhGTU (Izhevsk) – Obninsk (Obninsk) – 3:1, 3:2.

Thus, the Ryazan volleyball players retained the 8th place in the standings, scoring 33 points in 34 matches with a win-lose ratio of 45:78. The position in the Center Division after the 17th round is as follows: 1. Iskra-AMOND-2 – 86 points (93:34), 2. Severyanka-2 – 84 points (91:22), 3 Bryansk – 65 points (78:54), 4. Italmas-IzhGTU – 63 points (78:54), 5. Obninsk – 62 points (76:53), 6. Tulitsa-2 – 43 points (57:67), 7. Gatchinka – 41 points – (50:71), 8. VK Ryazan – 33 points (45:78), 9. University-Visit – 18 points ( 31:93), 10. Voronezh – 12 points (22:95).
In the 18th, final round of the first stage of the tournament, VC Ryazan on March 2-3 will play twice at home with rivals from Bryansk.
