The Astrakhan sports community sharply condemned the IOC decision – to prevent the Russian national team for games

Our region has a long tradition of the Olympic movement. It was the Astrakhan region that raised several Olympic champions at once. For example, the outstanding boxer Boris Kuznetsov, Gandbolists Vasily Kudinov and Andrei Tyumentsev, gymnast Elena Shalamova, as well as many others. The Minister of Sports of the region Maxim Fidurov also expressed his opinion regarding the whole situation today. We quote: “IOC made a big mistake. This decision is based to a large extent on speculation than facts. Without the participation of Russia in the Olympic Games, first of all, the level of competitions will fall, and this will negatively affect world sport. ” The decision of the Olympic Committee was spoke in the Interview program on the Russian Information Channel. The guests of the studio were: the head coach of the Astrakhanochka handball club – Georgy Zaikin and Deputy Minister of Sports and Physical Culture of the region Oksana Gerzanich.

– The Ministry of Sports of Russia, and the Olympic Committee of Russia and Russia did a tremendous work. People worried, worked so that everything was clean and open. But politics plays a role. I believe that there is nothing athletic in this. This is a political decision, but not athletic.
