Kia Sportage 2 (2004-2010)-Chronicle

Kia Sportage 2 is one of the cheapest models in its class. The price tags for used specimens begin approximately 500,000 rubles. It is quite difficult to sell Kia with profit. The Korean car was new relatively cheap and cost a little less than 700,000 rubles. The crossover is not impressive either with the quality of the finish or the style. But it is difficult to blame him for something of functionality.

2004-2008 onwards

Sportage perfectly corresponds to the needs of a typical buyer of a compact SUV. The car allows you to very easily maneuver in the city. In the cabin, 4 people will comfortably accommodate. However, a 332 liter trunk causes disappointment – this is a low indicator in the classroom.

Unlike the previous generation with the frame design, the body has a supporting circuit typical for this segment. At the same time, many owners complain of the average steering accuracy, characteristic of the older generation with a frame.

Kiya Sportage 2 was well equipped. All copies are equipped with air conditioning, and after modernization- an audio system with AUX and USB inputs. Since 2006, all Sportage received 6 airbags.

Engines

The line of power units is represented by three engines in various power options.

The main one is a 2-liter 16-valve gasoline engine G4GC with a capacity of 140 hp (142 hp). The motor is reliable, but it does not have enough torque. It tolerates the installation of gas equipment, so it may well become an alternative to diesel units.

The drive of the gas distribution mechanism of the combined type. A gear belt connects the crankshaft and camshaft. And the camshafts are connected by a chain. The belt changes every 60,000 km (about 7-12 thousand rubles). The chain usually walks for a long time – over 200-300 thousand km.

The valve clearance is adjusted by selecting pushers. The gaps can leave after 200-250 thousand km of run.

After 200-300 thousand km, an increase in oil consumption is not excluded. It is more often possible to moderate appetite after replacing oil-removable caps (7-16 thousand rubles). If the replacement does not help, then you will have to change the fallen rings.

The second most popular motor is 2.7-liter V6 gasoline G6ba. The engine is reliable.

The gas distribution mechanism is driven by a gear belt and two chains connecting the camshafts of each head. The belt (about 12,000 rubles with work) is updated once every 60,000 km, and the chains will last at least 250-300 thousand km.

Valve clearance is adjusted automatically using hydraulic pushers.

After 250-300 thousand km, the problem of oilzhora can also be indicated here. The reasons and methods of elimination are the same as in the 2 -liter motor – oil -shooting caps and rings.

Of considerable interest in the secondary market are manifested in diesel 2.0 CRDI D4EA. Initially, he developed a power of 112 hp. This diesel is quite simple and reliable: it does not have a variable geometry turbocharger and a particulate filter. But, nevertheless, a 2-liter diesel engine is not economical enough. At a relaxed pace in a combined cycle, it consumes 7 to 9 liters of diesel fuel for every 100 km.

In Europe, in 2006, the 2-liter diesel became stronger – 140 hp, and two years before the end of production, its 150-horsepower modification appeared. Although both units did not become more economical, they added dynamics to the crossover.

At the same time, they bring more technical problems. Most of them are related to the particulate filter. As with other models, the filter cannot be completely self-cleaning when the car is driven only in the city. Long trips on the highway at high speeds will help keep the owner from visiting a car service.

In addition, we have to reckon with the need to replace the dual-mass flywheel.

D4EA turbodiesels received a timing belt drive. The cost of updating it, along with the pump, will be about 13,000 rubles.

Fuel injectors (9,000 rubles for the repair of one nozzle) will last over 200,000 km, and a turbocharger (40-60 thousand rubles) can withstand more than 300,000 km.
