During the civil war in Russia in 1920, the 3rd Aviation Park arrived in Yelets from the Gzhatsk Smolensk province. The purpose of it was to supply aviation units with airplanes, engines, spare parts, technical property, as well as repair of faulty property and training of specialists to replenish aviation detachments. In April 1920, the aviation park settled in Yelets. Aircraft of different designs were repaired here, among which the airplanes of the types Newpers and Farman prevailed.
With the end of the Civil War, the leadership of the RKKVF headed for the optimization of the country's air forces. The rate was made for the production and purchase of new aircraft, and the old airplanes that developed their resource were withdrawn from the aviation units. In these conditions, a commission was created in July 1922. By October 7, 1922, the commission, and with it the entire plant, completed their work.
