The Neverland Raid Group became the first group in the world to complete the Dragonsong War. After nearly seven full days of raiding, the group made it through the toughest new battle in Final Fantasy XIV.

In an upset victory that saw them outsmart rivals Thoughts Per Second (TPS), Entropy and others, the raid group went through FFXIV's most brutal raid, defeating some of the most insidious mechanics to ever exist in an MMO.

Rematch in the Dragonsong War

In addition to solid mechanics, eight phases, and precise positioning, this Ultimate Raid had another status effect – emotional damage. The Dragonsong War Ultimate forces you to replay some of the most heartbreaking parts of the Heavensward expansion.

Most painfully, the raid makes you survive the death of your beloved comrade and even turns it into mechanics. You have a chance to save a comrade, and if not, the raid punishes you by trapping you in a time loop. Save a friend or never complete the raid…

This victory made Neverland Raid Group known as one of the best players in Final Fantasy XIV. But for mortals like the rest of us, we'll have to wait to see exactly what the insane mechanics in this raid look like. Unfortunately, Neverland hasn't released a kill video yet (to avoid spoilers for other teams), and most of the groups in the later stages of the fight aren't streaming.

But from the tweets of those who are still participating in the raids, we can tell that there are more complex mechanics, more heartbreak, and more challenges ahead.
